Thanks to the generosity of the people of Hay and visitors to the Festival, we have been able to send £7,300 to Mali for the toilets project in our three partner schools.
This money will build new or improved toilet blocks for girls, boys and teachers during the summer holidays in Timbuktu. Since we set our fundraising target of £7,000 a year ago costs have gone up and the value of sterling has fallen. We will need more support to ensure that the project can be properly finished.
