Grandfather Clock
Posted by admin | Under General Sunday May 24, 2009Nobody wears a watch as a watch anymore. Times seem to have changed and I am not really sure whether I am happy or sad about it. The one thing I know clearly is that I miss the clocks which used to be there in my home as I was growing up. Now, people look at their mobile and the mobile has become the clock, watch, calendar and everything in one.
I saw one of the posts in the blog clocksblog.com about Ant Farm Clock as Wall Clock or Mantel Clock - Your Favorite. A very interesting post about clocks. Just like that, one of my favourite clocks that I saw in the site 1-800-4clocks.com is the Eight Day Cuckoo Clock.
Beautifully crafted, it has cuckoos coming out and shouting the the time, every hour of the day.
The term grandfather clocks does not just mean the clocks that my grandfather would have used. In fact, he used only a pocket clock. But, I think it would apply to all the old model clocks even if they are brand new and recently made. These clocks have their own charm. The pendulum swinging left to right would mesmirise me and I would simply stare at it for a long time. I am going to get that clock and put it in our drawing room. It would simply make our drawing room come alive.
