Are You Job Ready?
Posted by admin | Under Education Friday Jun 26, 2009One of the main questions that employers ask when they see the resumes of prospective employees is “Are you Job Ready?” If the prospective employees understand it, then the way they prepare themselves will be very different. How will the prepare?
All that they have to do is to think about a few thinks that matter. One, what kind of a job do I want and where will I fit in. This is employee profiling and understanding his current skill set levels. Two, if this is the current levels of skill sets that they have, what is it that they should ideally have. Three, if this is the gap, how to bridge that gap.
This is where Learn.com comes in. They enable the prospective employees understand their current levels. This is called the “Skill score”. This is somewhat similar in idea to a “credit score”. Just as the credit score tells the bankers the financial worthiness of a person, the ’skill score’ tells the employer, the ‘job readiness’ of a person. Next, they help the employees to learn at their own pace, a number of things. It may be a degree to be earned. It may be a dissertation to be studied. It may be a self development module to be gone through. For example, it might even be a Microsoft training. Whatever it is, the employee goes through it and that is expected to bridge the gap.
Learn.com is a leader in on -demand workforce development and productivity. They have more than 50 million users currently. They have several software and modules which help employers to manage their workforce from the HR angle. They enable the employers to impart proper training when the training is most required.
