How to become the Perfect Parent

Wednesday Apr 15, 2009

Are you a Perfect Parent? I am not. I am far from a perfect father. In the midst of my business, in the midst of my consultancy assignments, in the midst of educating myself, the amount of quality time that I spend with my family and my kids is not enough and I know it.

I used to feel extremely guilty about it. I and my wife, both working parents, used to have lots and lots of questions for which seemingly there are no answers.

We used to wonder about things such as :

Am I allowing my children to take initiatives and learn at their own pace or am I pushing them too much? Am I being too protective when I bar them from going out in the night? When I teach my children their subjects, am I teaching them in a way it is easy for them to learn the essentials? Am I teaching them, helping them to learn about lie? Should I discipline them? Should it be mild? should it be harsh so that they remember? and so on and so forth.

Then we met parents such as myself and my wife and we formed a group. We met and discussed many things on parenting and found that all of us have very similar issues and questions. Right from how to teach children about things like sex to how to get them to help in the household chores, we discussed many things. We also discussed on how to teach them basics of business.

We found a site parenting which also helps us on parenting. It helps us to stay connected. It also has lots of stuff for which we were looking for answers. It also has discussion forums on many pertinent topics. It has also been helping us to become better parents.
